CONTÉVANOU's Antarctic Passage de Drake collection features an ergonomic brushed bracelet.

The sandbrushed links are connected by highly polished links shaped like the CZAPEK letter "C," creating a beautiful contrast in texture and creating a three-dimensional effect.

The bracelet also features a quick-change system, allowing you to quickly and easily change it to a rubber strap decorated with the same trapezoidal pattern as the dial.

This is a masterpiece from CZAPEK, which pursues perfection in design.

Development of SXH5 V3

"Creating the base movement from scratch was more difficult than launching the brand. We knew we needed to invest in production, use only the highest quality components, and include the most exquisite finishing to make the overall execution truly special."

For the Antarctic, Capek developed a new open-bridge movement with a micro-rotor .

The entire movement is decorated with highly sophisticated techniques, including a sandblasted platinum rotor.

Modernizing tradition

It is equipped with the hand-wound caliber SXH1 V2 , an evolved movement based on the motif of the pocket watch "No. 3430" presented to Napoleon III.

In addition to its high precision of 36,000 vibrations per hour (5Hz), it also has a long power reserve of 7 days .

The dial of the Quai des Berques, which combines traditional design with modern sensibilities, is made of Grand Feu enamel that has been carefully fired at high temperatures and is decorated with intricate guilloche detailing .

Not only does it enhance the beauty of the watch, it also reduces corrosion of the dial, creating a high-quality, elegant look.

The fleur de lys

The distinctive hands, based on the fleur-de-lis motif, known as the coat of arms of French aristocracy, are made of genuine white gold and carefully rhodium-plated .

The fleur-de-lis has long been used as a motif symbolizing nobility, and at the time it was a special design that only high-ranking aristocrats were allowed to use.

It is a dignified design that is typical of CZAPEK, who was also the exclusive watchmaker to Napoleon III.

    CONTÉVANOU sources and assembles CZAPEK straps, special buckles, and two types of hands from Switzerland, a process that only a select few retailers are allowed to do in Japan.

  • Custom Orders

    At CONTÉVANOU, we accept some custom orders by combining your own original parts at the Swiss CZAPEK workshop according to your preferences. Please ask our staff for details.

  • Overhaul Service

    Overhauls that should normally be done in Switzerland will be done in Japan depending on the wear of the parts. This is a testament to the friendship that has led CONTÉVANOU to be entrusted to Capek in Japan. Of course, when we sell our watches, we include a 3-year manufacturer's international warranty that is valid worldwide.

The birth of SXH1 V3

Based on the legendary movement No. 3430, Capek developed the manual-wound movement SXH1 .

With a 7-day power reserve , this caliber is both functional and beautiful.

The SXH1 VX was born after further redesign for the manual-winding model, the Quai des Berques.

The iconic skeleton bridge design of the SXH5 , which was installed in the hugely successful Antarctic, has been adopted, further highlighting the beauty of the mechanism.

This movement embodies Capek's technological expertise, combining high precision at 36,000 vibrations per hour (5Hz) with the incredible performance of a 7-day power reserve .

    Founded in 2007 by industry veteran Jean-François Mojon , Chronode is a movement workshop based in Le Locle, Switzerland.

    We are dedicated to the research, development and manufacture of mechanical movements, modules and highly complicated mechanisms.

    Since its founding, Chronode has been creating innovative concepts by thinking outside the box and exploring uncharted principles and ideas.

    This is a top-class workshop highly regarded in the world of Swiss movements, and was involved in the revival of the 7-day long power reserve watch .

  • VAUCHER MANUFACTURE FLEURIER

    Based in the Jura Mountains, considered the birthplace of Swiss watchmaking, Vaucher Manufacture Fleurier is a group of experts in the inner workings of movements.

    A group of skilled craftsmen come together to produce the custom-made automatic movement "SXH3" , developed for CZAPEK chronographs.

  • DONZÉ CADRANS

    "Grand Feu" enamel is one of the most difficult techniques for decorating a watch and is extremely durable.

    Rather than "painting" the motif, DONZÉ CADRANS artisans apply oxides to the dial, then place it in a high-temperature furnace at 800-900°C for repeated firing, gradually revealing the colors and patterns.

    The resulting Grand Feu enamel is a decoration of exquisite quality, which is precisely because it cannot be easily reproduced or altered. Even within Switzerland, there are only a limited number of workshops that are able to carry out this technique to the highest standards.

  • METALEM

    Metalem SA is a historic dial manufacturer with roots in the Jura watchmaking industry since 1928.

    They are known as a highly specialized workshop that has a thorough understanding of all manufacturing processes and produces only 100% Swiss-made high-end (Eau de Gamme) dials .

    Our beautiful and unique guilloché dials , as well as our franké and hand-painted dials , are all created in this special workshop.

  • AB CONCEPT & AB PRODUCT

    The two companies, which design and manufacture components for luxury watches, were founded in 2003 by Aurélien Bouchet and are now fully integrated manufacturing companies with high technical capabilities.

    For example, their outstanding skills have enabled the creation of extremely precise parts such as the titanium crown protector built into the stretcher and the "Fleur-de-Lis" hands (white gold handpieces) which are machined using an extremely fine 0.15mm tool .

  • HMS WAEBER

    Waeber HMS is an independent, family-run company with many years of experience in the manufacture of watch hands and is one of Switzerland's leading watch hand manufacturers.

    At the company's atelier, skilled craftsmen carefully carry out the approximately 20 manual steps required to finish the hands used in our watches, thoroughly honing them for precision and beauty.

  • MICHÈLE R.

    At the end of the 18th century, it is said that there were as many as 206 engravers in Geneva.

    However, this advanced hand-carving technique has now almost been lost, and most engraving is now done by automatic engraving machines or pantographs.

    Engraver Michel has preserved this rare craftsmanship to the present day, hand-carving each and every beautiful motif into CZAPEK watches.

    André is one of the outstanding artisans who specializes in the artistic craft of micro-painting.

    This skill and passion has resulted in custom-made CZAPEK watches of rare beauty, delicately decorated with coats of arms, family crests, symbols and designs.
