AiRAiN is a brand selected as one of the carefully chosen suppliers for the production of the pilot chronograph standard "Type 20" established by the French Ministry of Defense, alongside Breguet and Dodane.
Type 20 refers to a chronograph that meets strict specifications required particularly for the French military (at that time, the army, especially helicopter pilots).
The Airain watch was founded in 1934 by Raymond Dodane, the third generation of the Dodane family, known for their watchmaking lineage. It passed the rigorous examination of Type 20 during the 1950s and 60s, gaining a global reputation as a reliable, high-quality military chronograph.
After a long period of dormancy, it was revived in limited quantities while faithfully inheriting the design of the time.
Today, its rarity and certain quality continue to captivate watch collectors around the world.
